Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index reflected a positive trend as several major companies experienced increases in their stock prices. LG Innotek saw an increase of 2,500, bringing its value to 247,000. HMM also rose by 400 to a closing price of 20,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, LOTTE CHEMICAL Corp experienced a notable increase, with its price rising by 4,600 to close at 85,400. HYUNDAI WIA's stock price saw an uptick of 500, reaching 85,300, while KumhoPetrochem ended at 140,200, up by 1,800. Mobis increased by 4,000, closing at 448,500. HANWHA AEROSPACE recorded a significant gain of 25,000, ending at 1,324,000. SAMSUNG EPIS HOLDING saw a substantial rise, increasing by 9,000 to 607,000.
Other notable companies included S-1, which went up by 2,000 to 86,100, and KEPCO, which rose by 3,200 to 62,700. SKTelecom experienced an increase of 4,300, closing at 77,900. HD HYUNDAI and HD HYUNDAI ELECTRIC saw strong performances, with increases of 5,000 and 35,000, bringing their prices to 238,500 and 924,000, respectively.
Meanwhile, some companies saw declines. Hanchem decreased by 12,500, closing at 285,000. SamsungSecu and Hyundai Elevator also saw declines, with reductions of 400 and 600, respectively. KRAFTON's price fell by 1,500, ending at 244,000, while Doosan Bobcat decreased by 400 to 64,500.
Despite the downturns in some sectors, the overall performance of the KOSPI 200 index indicated a robust session for many Korean stocks, showcasing a positive market sentiment.
