Shinhan Financial Group Achieves Record Net Profit in 2025

Seoul: Shinhan Financial Group announced a significant rise in its net profit for 2025, marking a record high facilitated by increased interest and non-interest income streams.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the financial group's net profit reached 4.97 trillion won (approximately US$3.5 billion), reflecting an 11.7 percent increase from the 4.45 trillion won recorded in 2024. In addition, the company's operating profit grew by 8.74 percent to 7.02 trillion won, despite a revenue decline of 12.7 percent, which amounted to 64.68 trillion won.

Shinhan Financial attributed its robust earnings performance to a rise in both interest and non-interest income. The group's interest income climbed by 2.6 percent to 11.69 trillion won, while non-interest income saw a substantial increase of 14.4 percent, reaching 3.74 trillion won.

In the fourth quarter of 2025 alone, Shinhan Financial reported a net profit of 511 billion won, surpassing the 406 billion won achieved during the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, Shinhan Bank, the group's flagship entity, recorded an annual net profit of 3.75 trillion won, representing a 2.1 percent rise from the previous year.
