Samsung Lions Secure Victory Against Kia Tigers to Level KBO Postseason Series

Daegu:The Samsung Lions launched two home runs to defeat the Kia Tigers 8-3, leveling their South Korean baseball postseason series on Tuesday. The victory took place during the second game of the best-of-five series in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) at Daegu Samsung Lions Park.

According to Yonhap News Agency, cleanup hitter Lewin Diaz delivered a two-run home run, while the 42-year-old veteran Choi Hyoung-woo hit a solo shot, contributing significantly to the Lions' victory. Pitcher Ariel Jurado also played a crucial role, pitching 6 2/3 strong innings to earn his first career postseason victory.

Choi Hyoung-woo made history by becoming the oldest player ever to play and get a hit, a home run, and an RBI in a KBO postseason game at 42 years, 10 months, and 11 days old. The Lions managed to achieve nine hits before a sellout crowd of 23,550, a significant improvement after only securing two hits in a 5-1 loss in Monday's series opener.

The series will now move to the Tigers' home city of Gwangju, located approximately 270 kilometers south of Seoul, for Games 3 and 4 scheduled for Thursday and Friday, both starting at 630 p.m. The winner of this series will advance to the Korean Series next week, where they will face the KT Wiz, the team with the best record in the regular season.
