Daegu:Samsung Lions first baseman Lewin Diaz delivered a crucial performance in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) postseason, hitting a pivotal two-run home run to lead his team to an 8-3 victory over the Kia Tigers in Game 2 of the second round.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Diaz, known for his exceptional postseason performances over the past two years, was instrumental in leveling the series after the Lions' 5-1 loss in the opener. Despite a challenging first game where Diaz went 0-for-3 with a strikeout, he stepped up during the second game to help avoid a 2-0 series deficit.
Diaz's home run came during the fourth inning, which saw the Lions score four runs. After Park Seung-kyu tied the game with a double and Koo Ja-wook put the Lions ahead with a single, Diaz capitalized by hitting a 3-2 fastball from Tigers' starter Adam Oller into the right-center field seats. The home run was Diaz's seventh in his postseason career, all achieved since his debut in 2024, marking the most by any player in the KBO during that timeframe.
