Milan: Samsung Electronics Co. Chairman Lee Jae-yong has attended a dinner hosted by the head of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on the occasion of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, industry sources said Friday. Lee was present at the event hosted by IOC President Kirsty Coventry in Milan on Thursday, alongside other notable figures, including U.S. Vice President JD Vance, according to the sources.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee departed South Korea a day before the event to engage in discussions with international business and sports officials during the quadrennial sporting event, which is set to commence later Friday. Lee's attendance at this prestigious event in Milan follows his visit to the Paris Olympics in 2024, where he participated in a gathering of global business leaders at the Elysee Palace, invited by French President Emmanuel Macron.
