Seoul: The interim chief executive of Coupang Corp., Harold Rogers, appeared before police Friday to be questioned about perjury allegations related to his testimony to lawmakers late last year, marking his second police questioning in a week.

According to Yonhap News Agency, police are seeking to question Rogers about allegations that he gave false testimony under oath regarding the company's internal investigation into a massive data leak during a parliamentary hearing in December. Upon his arrival at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's office in western Seoul, Rogers stated, "Coupang will continue to fully cooperate with all government investigations. We will also faithfully and thoroughly cooperate with the police investigation today." He refrained from answering questions about the allegations.

During the parliamentary hearing, Rogers testified that Coupang conducted its own investigation into a Chinese national suspected of involvement in the breach and confiscated his laptop at the instructions of the National Intelligence Service. However, this claim was denied by the intelligence agency, leading a parliamentary committee to file a complaint seeking an investigation into Rogers and six other former and current Coupang executives for committing perjury.

Rogers had previously undergone a 12-hour interrogation session last Friday over allegations of obstruction of justice in connection with the data leak, which has affected more than 33 million customers in South Korea. Despite defying two previous police summonses and leaving South Korea in early January, he returned to Seoul days before the first interrogation.
