S. Korea’s Value-Up Index Sets New Record Last Month: KRX

South korea: South Korea's main bourse operator announced that its value-up index reached an all-time high at the end of last month.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Korea Exchange's (KRX) value-up index was recorded at 2,330.7 as of end-January. This marks an increase of 134.9 percent from when the index was first introduced on September 30, 2024.

The value-up index has outperformed the broader benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI), which saw a rise of 101.5 percent during the same period, as stated by the bourse operator in a recent release. The index comprises 100 companies that show strong performance across various qualitative metrics, including profitability and shareholder returns.

Net assets in 13 exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that track the value-up index reached 1.7 trillion won by the end of last month. This represents an increase of 255.3 percent from when these funds were launched in November 2024, according to the KRX.
