Seoul: South Korea's largest export promotion fair commenced its three-week run on Tuesday, aiming to draw global attention to Korean companies in anticipation of the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit later this month, the industry ministry announced.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the 2025 Boom-up Korea Week is scheduled to continue until November 7. This event will see participation from approximately 1,700 global companies representing 70 countries, engaging in discussions on business opportunities with around 4,000 Korean firms, as reported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources.
The ministry anticipates over 10,000 export consultations to occur during the event, potentially leading to export deals and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) valued at a total of US$350 million.
The fair will include 28 affiliated exhibitions designed to highlight technologies from various industries, such as electronics, semiconductors, future mobility, shipbuilding, and biohealth.
Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo stated in a press release, "By combining the passion of our entrepreneurs with strong government support, we aim to showcase the brand power of Korean companies to the world and help them use this event as a steppingstone for a global leap beyond APEC."
The APEC summit is set to be hosted in the southeastern city of Gyeongju from October 31 to November 1, alongside numerous business events, which will gather leaders from APEC member economies and global companies.
