S. Korea Paves Way for 2.9 Trillion-Won Investment in Q3 with Eased Regulations.

South korea: South Korea has paved the way for a combined investment of 2.9 trillion won (US$2.1 billion) in the third quarter by lifting excessive regulations, the industry ministry said Thursday. The move is part of the government's efforts to facilitate business investments and stimulate economic growth by addressing regulatory hindrances. According to Yonhap News Agency, the country has been operating a hotline since 2023 to promptly address issues faced by businesses that could hinder their investment. This initiative is aimed at supporting companies in overcoming obstacles and enhancing their capacity to invest and innovate. South Korea has removed barriers for a combined 45.5 trillion won worth of investment as of September through the hotline, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The hotline serves as a direct channel for businesses to report challenges and seek assistance in navigating regulatory landscapes. "To enable businesses to realize the outcomes of their bold initiative s and innovations, the government will make proactive efforts to improve unreasonable regulations," Industrial Policy Director General Lee Seung-ryeol said. This commitment underscores the government's intent to create a more conducive environment for business growth and technological advancement.
