S. Korea Launches Global Film Screening Initiative Through Diplomatic Missions

Seoul: The foreign ministry announced on Monday that it is launching a global film and cultural outreach program through more than 60 overseas diplomatic missions to introduce Korean culture and content to audiences worldwide.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the initiative, known as the "Korean Story Festival," involves South Korean missions in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa screening Korean films on a monthly basis. These screenings are part of a broader effort to engage global audiences with aspects of Korean daily life, cuisine, and culture as depicted in the movies.

As of June, 21 diplomatic missions had already hosted the program, with more than 40 additional missions planning to organize events during the second half of the year. Notably, South Korean missions in Switzerland, Norway, and Jordan are partnering with local film festivals to highlight Korean cinema.

The foreign ministry stated that detailed information on screening schedules and related events can be found on the websites and social media accounts of participating diplomatic missions.
