Seoul: South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah convened on Tuesday to explore avenues for cooperation in energy and infrastructure, as reported by Seoul's foreign ministry. The discussions highlighted the prospects for collaboration in these crucial sectors.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the two diplomats also delved into the current state of affairs in the Middle East, particularly in light of the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran. This meeting marked a significant diplomatic engagement, as it was the first visit by a Kuwaiti foreign minister to South Korea since 2007.

Kuwait holds a significant position in South Korea's economic landscape, being its fifth-largest supplier of crude oil and fourth-largest market for overseas construction projects as of 2025. The longstanding partnership between the two nations continues to be comprehensive and mutually beneficial, as emphasized by the ministry.
