According to Yonhap News Agency, the seventh Korea-Jiangsu business and trade exchange forum was hosted in Yancheng city, located in the eastern Chinese province. The forum saw participation from approximately 400 government officials and business leaders from both regions. Notable attendees included Korean Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo, as reported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources.

This partnership is highlighted by the presence of more than 3,000 South Korean companies, such as Samsung Electronics Co., SK hynix Inc., and Kia Corp., operating within the province. The trade volume between South Korea and Jiangsu reached $86.3 billion in 2025, constituting 30.6 percent of the overall trade between South Korea and China, according to the ministry.
During his opening remarks at the forum, Yeo emphasized the economic significance of Chinese provinces, noting their industrial ecosystems and economic scales comparable to those of individual countries. He reaffirmed South Korea's commitment to strengthening economic cooperation with Jiangsu and China as a whole.
Additionally, on the sidelines of the forum, Yeo engaged with senior officials from Jiangsu, including Vice Gov. Zhao Yan. He also held discussions with an executive from Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group to explore potential avenues for expanding the export of Korean consumer goods, as detailed by the ministry.
