Rom-Com ‘Dynamite Kiss’ Maintains Top Spot on Netflix’s Non-English Series Chart

Seoul: South Korean romantic comedy "Dynamite Kiss" remained atop Netflix's weekly non-English series chart for a second straight week, the streaming platform said Wednesday. The show has captivated audiences globally, holding its position as the number one non-English TV series by logging 4.8 million views for the week ending December 7, as detailed by Netflix's official site Tudum.

According to Yonhap News Agency, "Dynamite Kiss," which premiered on November 12, initially debuted at the third position on the chart. It quickly climbed to the second spot before securing the top position in its third week. The series has achieved widespread popularity, becoming the most-viewed non-English TV title in 43 countries, including Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and South Korea.

The 14-part series follows the intriguing story of Da-rim, played by Ahn Eun-jin, who pretends to be a single mother to secure employment, and Ji-hyuk, portrayed by Jang Ki-yong, who is a team leader drawn to her. The captivating plot and strong performances have resonated with audiences, contributing to its global success.

In addition to "Dynamite Kiss," three other Korean series have made it into Netflix's top 10 non-English series chart. The Netflix original crime thriller "The Price of Confession," starring Jeon Do-yeon and Kim Go-eun, secured the number two spot with 2.2 million views. Another crime thriller, "As You Stood By," and Na Young-seok's travel reality series "Three Idiots in Kenya" also featured in the top 10, occupying the eighth and ninth positions, respectively.
