According to Yonhap News Agency, the number of resident foreign workers with student visas, such as D-2, D-4-1, and D-4-7, rose to 56,000. This marks a substantial increase of 71.8 percent compared with May 2024, based on the report from the Korea Employment Information Service.

The report indicates that there were a total of 1,109,000 employed foreigners residing in South Korea as of May 2025, marking an increase of 99,000 from the previous year.
