Renault Korea Sees 1% Increase in September Sales Driven by Export Growth

Seoul: Renault Korea Motors, the South Korean unit of Renault S.A., reported a 1 percent increase in its sales for September compared to the same month last year, largely due to robust export performance. The company announced that it sold 8,710 vehicles in September, up from 8,625 in the same month of the previous year.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the domestic market saw a decline in sales, with a 16.5 percent drop to 4,182 units from last year's 5,010 units. However, this was offset by a significant rise in exports, which surged by 25.3 percent to 4,528 units from 3,615 units in the previous year.

The company attributed the positive results to increased shipments of the Arkana sedan and the Grand Koleos SUV, which have shown strong demand in international markets. Renault Korea began exporting the Grand Koleos in May to 13 countries across Latin America and the Middle East and is planning to expand its reach to African markets.

For the period from January to September, Renault Korea reported a 7.4 percent increase in total sales, reaching 69,445 units compared to 64,656 units in the same period last year. Domestic sales more than doubled, rising to 40,115 vehicles from 19,042, while exports experienced a decline of 35.7 percent, falling to 29,330 units from 45,614.

Renault Korea's current product lineup includes the SM6 midsize sedan, Grand Koleos midsize SUV, Arcana SUV, and the Master minivan, which continue to contribute to its market performance both domestically and internationally.
