Seoul: Qualcomm Inc. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Cristiano Amon is expected to meet with officials from LG Electronics Inc., including CEO Lyu Jae-cheol, in Seoul to expand collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), industry sources said Tuesday. This meeting is anticipated to explore integrating technologies for physical AI, identified as a potential growth area for both companies.
According to Yonhap News Agency, LG Electronics is actively extending its business into automotive components and is focused on advancing network communications technologies to support AI-powered mobility. Qualcomm recently introduced high-performance AI processors for vehicles, including the Dragonwing IQ10, and robotics platforms at CES 2026. Industry insiders suggest that LG Electronics might develop chips and form a stable supply chain with Qualcomm's collaboration.
The partnership between LG Electronics and Qualcomm has a long history, with LG previously incorporating Qualcomm chips in its mobile phones. Amon's visit to South Korea is also expected to include meetings with officials from other Korean tech companies, such as Samsung Electronics Co. and SK hynix Inc., sources indicated.
