Princess Anne to Visit South Korea for Korean War Commemoration

Seoul: Britain's Princess Anne, the younger sister of King Charles III, is set to visit South Korea next month for a series of events that will honor the enduring partnership between the United Kingdom and South Korea, as well as commemorate British sacrifices during the Korean War, the British Embassy in Seoul announced on Wednesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Princess Anne, accompanied by her husband Sir Tim Laurence, will embark on a three-day visit to South Korea starting from July 13. The visit will include participation in events marking the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Imjin River, an important event in Korean War history where British soldiers played a significant role.

The Princess will also engage in activities that highlight the collaboration between the two nations in fields such as maritime manufacturing, advanced technologies, research, education, and cultural exchanges. This visit underscores the mutual interests and cooperation that have been fostered over the years.

Princess Anne's visit to South Korea is not her first; she previously visited during the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. Colin Crooks, the British ambassador to South Korea, expressed confidence that she will be warmly received, emphasizing the longstanding and cordial ties between the Royal Family and the Republic of Korea.
