PM and Qatari Energy Minister Discuss LNG and AI Cooperation

Seoul: Prime Minister Kim Min-seok met with the Qatari energy minister to discuss bilateral cooperation in the energy and advanced technology sectors, as announced by Kim's office. The meeting highlighted the strategic partnership between the two nations, focusing on key areas such as liquefied natural gas (LNG) and artificial intelligence (AI).

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim engaged in discussions with Qatari Energy Minister Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi in Seoul, emphasizing mutual interests in expanding their cooperative relationship. "Qatar is the second-largest supplier of LNG to South Korea, and our country has secured the highest volume of LNG carrier orders from Qatar," Kim stated. He further expressed hopes to extend cooperation beyond energy to include advancements in AI.

The Qatari energy minister expressed optimism about strengthening ties, particularly in the energy sector, while acknowledging the significant role South Korean companies have played in developing Qatar's infrastructure. This meeting marks a continued effort to enhance bilateral relations between South Korea and Qatar in critical economic sectors.
