Seoul: North Korea has announced that its leader, Kim Jong-un, has overseen tactical drills simulating a nuclear counterattack, which involved the use of “super-large” multiple rocket launchers. This marks the first time such exercises have been conducted, highlighting the ongoing tensions and military developments on the Korean Peninsula.
According to Yonhap News Agency, these drills come at a time when diplomatic efforts and military activities continue to shape the complex relationship between North and South Korea. Historically, the Korean Peninsula has been a focal point of geopolitical interest and conflict, with numerous significant events marking its timeline.
In 1919, a group of 24 leaders from Korea’s independence movement declared the establishment of a provisional government in Shanghai, aiming to gain freedom from Japanese colonial rule. This was a pivotal moment in Korea’s history, setting the stage for future developments.
