Busan: Two players are tied atop the leaderboard entering the final round of LIV Golf Korea, with two South Korean players looking to crack the top 10. Joaquin Niemann of Chile and Talor Gooch of the United States are co-leaders after 54 holes after reaching nine-under at Asiad Country Club in the southeastern city of Busan on Saturday. The champion will bag US$4 million. They took different routes to get there on this warm, windy day with sunny skies. Niemann, who won five times last year but is winless in 2026, made six birdies, including one on the 18th hole, against two bogeys for a round of 66 at the par-70 course.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Gooch began his third round with 14 straight pars before a birdie at the par-5 15th. He then recorded three straight pars to close out his round of 69. Gooch had three wins in 2023 and another win in 2025. Gooch, who had shot 63 in the second round, said he didn't find it that difficult to stay patient in the third round while riding his par train, knowing there weren't many birdies to be had even if he forced the issue.
Scott Vincent of Zimbabwe is alone in third place at eight-under. Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau is in a three-way tie for sixth at six-under after going 71 on Saturday with three birdies and four bogeys. Unlike the two players he is chasing, Vincent is looking to win for the first time in LIV Golf.
Mun Do-yeob and Song Young-han are tied as the top South Korean players at three-under, which put them in a five-way tie for 14th. Mun, who joined Korean Golf Club this week, shot 71 after two straight rounds of 68. He made four birdies Saturday but also had three bogeys and one double bogey. Song carded 69 with four birdies and three bogeys.
LIV Golf also keeps track of scores for its 13 teams, with the aggregate scores of all four members of each team determining the standings. Led by DeChambeau, Crushers Golf Clubs is in first place at 16-under, one ahead of Gooch's OKGC. The winning team will take home $3 million, to be split among its four members.
