Seoul: K-pop girl group NewJeans has issued a warning to their management agency, ADOR, stating their intention to terminate their contracts if former agency CEO Min Hee-jin is not reinstated. The group sent a certificate of contents to ADOR, a subsidiary label of Hybe, signaling a potential legal battle over their exclusive contracts.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the conflict is the latest development in a dispute between NewJeans and Hybe, the parent company of ADOR. The letter, signed by all five members under their legal names, demands that ADOR address “grave breaches of the exclusive contracts within 14 days.” If the demands are not met, NewJeans plans to revoke their contracts.

The group’s demands include reinstating Min as CEO and an official apology from a Hybe sub-label manager accused of bullying NewJeans member Hanni. Last month, Hanni testified at a parliamentary hearing on workplace bullying, accusing the manager of instructing members of the girl group ILLIT to ignore her at Hybe’s buildi
ng.

In their letter, NewJeans expressed a desire for Min Hee-jin to resume her role in managing and producing their work, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the group’s unique artistic vision. They also called for an investigation into allegations that Hybe has prioritized other girl groups, such as ILLIT and Le Sserafim, over NewJeans, and requested legal actions against those responsible.
