Naver and Daum Face Service Disruptions Following Yoon’s Martial Law Declaration.

Seoul: Naver, South Korea's leading Internet portal, experienced disruption in its service Tuesday following President Yoon Suk Yeol's unexpected martial law declaration. Naver Cafe, the company's online community platform, encountered connection issues on its mobile app starting around 11 p.m., shortly after Yoon's announcement at approximately 10:30 p.m. While users could still access the platform via computers, the ability to comment on posts was restricted. The company announced that maintenance would occur until 1 a.m. Wednesday. According to Yonhap News Agency, similar disruptions were observed in Naver's news service, with the company issuing an emergency maintenance notice in the comment section. Naver later stated that the comment function underwent emergency operations for about 20 minutes and has since been normalized. Meanwhile, Daum, the country's second-largest web portal, reported similar access issues. Kakao Corp., the operator of Daum, stated that no errors were identified on its services d uring this period.
