Seoul: LS Cable and System Ltd., South Korea's biggest cable company, announced it has secured a 200 billion-won (US$136.9 million) contract to supply high-voltage cables to Singapore. The agreement involves a major energy infrastructure project designed to transmit solar-generated electricity from Indonesia to Singapore.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the contract was signed with Singapore's power supply authority and includes the provision of 230-kilovolt cables for an underground transmission section. LS Cable will be responsible for manufacturing, construction, and installation as part of the deal.

The company also revealed it is in discussions for an additional contract valued at 150 billion won, which would cover more underground cable sections. LS Cable anticipates that these developments will facilitate its expansion into the submarine cable market within the Southeast Asian region.
