Seoul:The chief technology officer of LG Uplus Corp., a leading South Korean mobile carrier, has emphasized the potential for South Korea and Japan to collaborate in the development of voice artificial intelligence (AI) services as the two nations prepare for the advent of sixth-generation (6G) networks.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee Sang-yup shared his insights during a forum organized by Yonhap News Agency in Seoul. He highlighted that the two countries, with their distinct linguistic characteristics, have significant potential for cooperation in the voice AI sector.

Lee noted that voice AI presents a promising area for synergy between South Korea and Japan. He elaborated on the future of 6G networks, which are expected to feature AI-native capabilities, including voice interfaces and personal AI assistants, moving away from traditional app-based interactions.
