Government House announces level 3 warning in 3 districts of Chiang Rai Province, closely monitoring the situation and preparing to evacuate.

At 5:00 p.m., Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, advisor to the Prime Minister and spokesman for the Flood, Storm and Landslide Relief Operation Center (FSOC) and the Forward Operation Center in Chiang Rai Province, revealed that the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation has sent a short message (SMS) to warn people in areas at risk of flash floods and forest runoff to prepare for the situation and be ready to evacuate. The risk areas include Tambon Wiang, Tambon Mae Ngoen, Chiang Saen District, Tambon Nang Lae, Tambon Ban Du, Tambon Tha Sut, Tambon Mae Korn, Mueang Chiang Rai District, and Tambon Tha Khao Pluek, Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai Province.

The spokesman of the Forward Command Center added that there is currently heavy rain in Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Son provinces. The Forest Protection Unit Station at Chor.11 (Chiang Saen), Chiang Khong District, Chiang Rai
Province reported that the average rainfall over 24 hours (as of 4:00 p.m.) was as high as 195.8 millimeters, which poses a high risk of flash floods and forest runoff, which could be dangerous to the lives and properties of the people.
