Lee’s Special Envoy Visits India, Meets PM Modi

New delhi: President Lee Jae Myung's special envoy to India visited the country and met with its Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the foreign ministry said Friday. A team of special envoys led by former Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum visited New Delhi and paid a courtesy call on Modi on Thursday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the envoys delivered a letter from President Lee to Prime Minister Modi. The letter expressed Lee's desire to enhance bilateral relations and reaffirmed his dedication to further developing the special strategic partnership between South Korea and India. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of this partnership.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed his gratitude to the delegation for President Lee's letter and expressed his hope for Lee's visit to India. Modi also recalled his meeting with President Lee on the sidelines of the Group of Seven summit in June, which left a significant impression on him.

Additionally, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the potential for cooperation in the shipbuilding industry, where South Korea holds a leading position globally. He assured the delegation that he would strive to address any challenges faced by South Korean companies operating in India.
