Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating has fallen below the 40 percent threshold, as revealed by a recent public poll, seemingly prompting his administration to emphasize the economy and livelihoods as key priorities.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the poll conducted by Jowon C and I, commissioned by Straight News, surveyed 2,001 voters from Saturday to Monday. It showed that 38.9 percent of respondents viewed President Lee's administration positively, while a significant 57.9 percent expressed a negative view. This represents a 4 percentage-point drop from the previous survey by the same pollster.

In response to the declining approval ratings, the presidential office issued a statement emphasizing its commitment to making people's livelihoods and the economy its top priorities. "The government will carefully review its state administration to improve people's lives so that the public can tangibly feel this," Cheong Wa Dae stated, promising dedicated efforts to achieve meaningful progress.

The poll results carry a 95 percent confidence level, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.2 percentage points.
