Paris: President Lee Jae Myung on Tuesday emphasized a broad range of areas for cooperation between South Korea and France, suggesting potential new market opportunities through closer bilateral collaboration.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee made these remarks at a business roundtable in Paris, which gathered numerous government and corporate officials from both countries to explore joint business opportunities. The event specifically focused on seeking joint projects and investments in the artificial intelligence, mobility, energy, and beauty industries.

The discussions included plans for investment cooperation between Samsung Electronics Co. and France's Mistral AI, as well as a partnership between the French firm and South Korean internet portal Naver to expand into the sovereign AI market. After hearing from participants, Lee concluded that South Korea and France have a broad range of sectors for potential cooperation, according to presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung.

Lee also noted that joint research, development, and investment in new industries could reduce the time needed for progress when pursued independently and enhance investment efficiency. Beyond advanced industries, Lee mentioned that culture and arts could be new areas for the two countries to explore market opportunities together, expressing hope for enhanced cooperation between South Korean and French companies and governments.
