Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung on Tuesday congratulated snowboarder Yu Seung-eun on winning a bronze medal at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. "I extend my warm congratulations," Lee wrote on Facebook after Yu won the bronze medal in the women's big air event in Italy on Monday (local time).

According to Yonhap News Agency, the bronze medal marks Yu's first Olympic appearance, setting a new milestone in the history of snowboarding for the Republic of Korea. Lee highlighted that Yu's achievement was particularly significant as she overcame an injury and underwent rehabilitation to compete in the Olympics.

Lee commended Yu's performance, stating that her bold spirit and unwavering focus in a high-risk event like snowboard big air filled people with awe and deep emotion.
