Seoul:President Lee Jae Myung is scheduled to hold a summit with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Seoul to explore avenues for enhancing economic cooperation between South Korea and Egypt.
According to Yonhap News Agency, El-Sisi arrived in South Korea for a three-day state visit, marking his first trip to the country since 2016. The visit includes an official welcoming ceremony, summit talks, an agreement signing ceremony, a joint press briefing, and a state luncheon.
The discussions between the two leaders are expected to cover topics such as trade, investment, infrastructure, supply chains, and people-to-people exchanges. They will also address regional political situations and international issues.
Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung stated that El-Sisi's visit is anticipated to be a significant step toward developing a strategic partnership between South Korea and Egypt, as well as enhancing cooperation with Africa and the Middle East. The last meeting between Lee and El-Sisi took place in November during Lee's visit to Egypt.
