Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index observed significant gains as multiple companies closed with increased stock prices. Leading the surge, Samsung C and T climbed to 312,500 with an increase of 23,000, while Shinsegae saw a rise of 25,500 to close at 355,000. AMOREPACIFIC and KIH also performed well, with respective increases to 165,100 and 223,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several other notable companies showed positive trends. Samsung Life increased by 8,700 to reach 193,000, and Celltrion saw a rise of 10,000, closing at 230,000. KEPCO and SK Telecom also experienced gains, with their stocks closing at 62,600 and 73,400, respectively.
The market also saw considerable movement in the stocks of Hyundai Rotem and L and F, both increasing by 10,000 and 7,000, reaching 212,500 and 120,800. KT and G and Hyundai Elevator closed at 168,500 and 103,400, marking gains of 5,200 and 1,200, respectively.
Other companies demonstrating positive performances included LG Electronics, closing at 102,600 with an increase of 3,400, and KT, which went up by 3,000 to 59,300. The financial sector also saw gains, with JB Financial Group rising to 29,550 and Woori Financial Group reaching 34,550.
Investors showed interest in HD-Hyundai Marine Engine and Hankook Tire and Technology, with their stocks rising to 82,600 and 69,800, respectively. The pharmaceutical sector also noted an uptick, with Daewoong Pharm closing at 168,800, up by 5,500.
