Seoul: Monday's closing prices on the main Korea Stock Exchange reflected a mixed performance for KOSPI 200 stocks, with several significant declines.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics closed at 173,500 KRW, marking a decrease of 14,700 KRW. Other notable declines included SK hynix, which dropped 88,000 KRW to close at 836,000 KRW, and Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance, which fell by 22,000 KRW to 474,500 KRW.
DB Insurance witnessed a decrease of 8,400 KRW, closing at 180,000 KRW, while Hyundai Engineering and Construction saw a decline of 10,400 KRW, ending the day at 146,400 KRW. Additionally, LG Corp. fell by 4,700 KRW, closing at 89,300 KRW, and CJ CheilJedang experienced a drop of 5,900 KRW, closing at 190,000 KRW.
On the positive side, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries rose by 22,000 KRW to 576,000 KRW, and SeAH Steel Holdings increased by 4,000 KRW, reaching 134,700 KRW. POSCO International also saw an uptick, closing at 76,600 KRW with a rise of 3,300 KRW. Meanwhile, Hankuk Carbon finished the day at 44,750 KRW, up by 2,950 KRW.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 stocks displayed varied movements, with a number of declines offset by some gains, indicating a dynamic trading session on the Korea Stock Exchange.
