Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced notable increases in stock prices, with several companies achieving significant gains. Noteworthy performers included HD Hyundai Electric, SK Square, and HanmiPharm, all of which contributed to the overall upward movement in the market.
According to Yonhap News Agency, HD Hyundai Electric saw its stock price soar by 70,000 points, reaching a total of 1,136,000. This increase was one of the largest among the listed companies. SK Square also reported a substantial rise, with its stock price climbing 150,000 points to 1,179,000. Another major gainer was HanmiPharm, which increased by 22,000 points, resulting in a new price of 436,500.
Other companies that reported gains include Kolon Industries, which rose by 5,500 points to 76,500, and emart, which increased by 5,300 points to 93,800. Doosan Robotics and DL E and C also saw significant increases, with their stock prices rising by 12,100 and 6,300 points, respectively.
In contrast, some companies experienced declines. SD Biosensor's stock price dropped by 90 points to 7,960, and Chongkundang saw a decrease of 400 points, bringing its stock price to 78,100. KRAFTON experienced the largest decline, with its stock price falling by 7,500 points to 258,000.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 index showed positive momentum, driven by substantial gains in several key sectors. The market's performance reflects investor confidence and the dynamic nature of South Korea's financial landscape.
