KOSPI 200 Sees Significant Gains as Major Stocks Surge

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index reported notable increases in stock prices on Thursday, reflecting a positive trend in South Korea's main stock market. Key players in the market experienced significant upward movement, contributing to the overall growth.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Youngpoong's stock price rose by KRW 1,300 to close at KRW 54,000. Hyundai Engineering and Construction saw a substantial rise of KRW 10,900, ending the day at KRW 147,100. Hanwha's shares increased by KRW 11,600, closing at KRW 134,600.

Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance also had a successful day, with its stock price climbing KRW 23,000 to reach KRW 566,000. HANALL BIOPHARMA experienced an increase of KRW 11,700, closing at KRW 50,900. Kogas recorded a growth of KRW 750, ending at KRW 37,800.

SK hynix led the gains with a significant rise of KRW 195,000, closing at KRW 1,940,000. Other notable performers included LGELECTRONICS, which rose by KRW 54,000 to KRW 235,000, and DOOSAN, which increased by KRW 122,000 to KRW 1,600,000.

While most stocks on the index saw gains, HITEJINRO and MiwonComcl reported slight declines, with HITEJINRO dropping by KRW 250 to KRW 16,460, and MiwonComcl decreasing by KRW 1,200 to KRW 125,800. Overall, the market closed with a positive outlook, driven by the robust performance of major companies.
