KOSPI 200 Sees Significant Declines with Notable Losses in Technology and Automotive Sectors

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced notable declines, with several key stocks marking significant drops in their closing prices. Prominent companies in the technology and automotive sectors were among the biggest losers in this trading session.

According to Yonhap News Agency, LS Electric saw a decrease of 10,000 to close at 243,500, while Hyundai Wia dropped by 8,800, ending at 80,200. SKC also faced a downturn, closing at 127,800, a decrease of 8,700. In the financial sector, Mirae Asset Securities fell by 4,100, closing at 66,400. S-Oil recorded a decline of 1,400, closing at 110,100.

Other significant declines included Hyundai Glovis, which saw a substantial drop of 16,000, closing at 214,000, and Hyundai Steel, which decreased by 4,850, ending at 38,600. Samsung Electronics closed at 275,500, down by 5,500, and Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. faced a significant decline of 26,000, ending at 587,000.

In the automotive sector, Hyundai Autoever experienced a steep decline, closing at 536,000, down by 60,000, and Mobis decreased by 46,000, closing at 525,000. Hyundai Heavy Industries also saw a notable decrease of 17,000, ending at 598,000.

Despite the overall downward trend, some companies experienced gains. LG Innotek increased by 33,000, closing at 793,000, while Daewoong Pharm rose by 1,100, ending at 134,200. LS recorded an increase of 13,000, closing at 541,000, and Hanwha Aerospace saw a significant rise of 59,000, closing at 1,286,000.

Other companies with positive performances included DB Insurance, which increased by 3,500, closing at 164,100, and CJ, which rose by 4,200, ending at 174,500. S-1 also saw an increase of 800, closing at 71,300, and GC Corp. rose by 190, ending at 15,660.
