Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a day of mixed outcomes with notable gains and losses among its constituents. Samsung Electronics, one of the largest components of the index, recorded a significant increase, closing at 281,000, up by 10,500.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several companies faced declines in their stock prices. Notably, CJ experienced the largest drop, closing at 170,300, a decrease of 46,700. SeAH Steel Holdings also saw a significant decline, dropping by 20,800 to close at 172,600. Other companies that faced downturns include POSCO Holdings, which fell by 4,500, and LG Energy Solution, which decreased by 9,000.
On the other hand, some companies recorded gains. SBHC rose by 5,400 to close at 75,500, while Hyundai M and F Insurance increased by 5,000, ending the day at 38,350. Samsung Electronics Mechanical also saw gains, rising by 21,000 to a closing price of 1,031,000.
Despite the mixed results, the overall performance of the KOSPI 200 highlighted the varied trends within the market, with some companies experiencing upward momentum while others faced challenges in sustaining their stock values.
