Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a day of mixed performances, with several major companies witnessing significant declines in their stock prices. Notably, LG Innotek and SamyangFood suffered substantial losses. The closing prices paint a picture of a market facing varied challenges.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. closed at 570,000, marking a decrease of 17,000. KPIC and Hyundai Department Store also experienced declines, closing at 128,700 and 103,800 respectively. Other notable companies such as Kolon Industries and GS Retail saw their stock prices fall to 71,000 and 26,250.
Conversely, a few companies managed to close higher. GC Corp. and ISUPETASYS saw increases in their stock prices, closing at 16,370 and 121,600 respectively. S-Oil also ended the day on a positive note, with its stock price rising to 110,800.
Despite these gains, the overall sentiment was overshadowed by significant declines in other major stocks. OCI Holdings and Korea Zinc experienced notable drops, closing at 277,500 and 1,314,000 respectively. Additionally, LG Innotek and SamyangFood saw sharp decreases, with their stock prices plummeting to 760,000 and 1,357,000.
Other companies such as NAVER, KIWOOM, and POSCO International also faced declines, adding to the broader downward trend observed in the market. The fluctuations in the KOSPI 200 indicate a challenging day for investors, with many stocks experiencing downward pressure amid ongoing market uncertainties.
