Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a varied trading session, with a number of companies reporting significant changes in their stock prices. Among the top gainers were Hanwha Aerospace and LS Electric, which saw their shares increase by 28,000 and 10,300 respectively.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Hanwha Aerospace led the charge in the aerospace sector with its stock price climbing to 816,000, reflecting strong investor confidence. LS Electric also made substantial gains, closing at 181,700, which marked a notable rise in the electric sector. Other companies such as Hyosung Heavy and HDKSOE also reported increases, with their stocks up by 14,000 and 4,000 respectively.
Samsung SDI CO.,LTD. and Doosan were notable performers in the technology and industrial sectors, with Samsung SDI closing at 180,900 after a rise of 3,900, while Doosan's shares increased by 7,500 to 278,000. The chemical sector showed mixed results, with YoulchonChem gaining 1,200 to close at 28,000, while KumhoPetrochem saw a decline of 2,600, settling at 113,200.
Despite these gains, several companies faced declines. GS E and C and KPIC saw their shares drop by 110 and 300, respectively. The retail sector also witnessed a dip, with GS Retail's stock decreasing by 30 to finish at 14,210. In the heavy industries sector, OTOKI and KorZinc experienced decreases of 1,500 and 1,000, respectively.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 index reflected a blend of market optimism and caution, highlighting the varied performance across different sectors.
