KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Performance as Tech Stocks Experience Decline

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a mixed performance with both gains and losses among its constituents. Notable movements were observed in various sectors, reflecting a day of fluctuations in the South Korean stock market.

According to Yonhap News Agency, HYUNDAIDEPTST saw an increase, closing at 95,500 with a rise of 5,000. In contrast, GS experienced a decrease, closing at 56,100, down by 400. COSMOCHEM also declined, closing at 17,370, a decrease of 130. KIH and MiwonComcl both saw downward trends, closing at 157,000 and 156,500, respectively.

In the technology sector, LGELECTRONICS showed a slight increase at 94,700, up by 200, while Celltrion rose to 186,700, gaining 1,000. DWS and DENTIUM also saw positive movements, closing at 27,650 and 49,750, respectively. Conversely, SK hynix faced a significant drop, closing at 565,000, a decline of 22,000, and HYUNDAI ROTEM closed at 179,200, down by 7,800.

Other notable movements included SAMSUNG BIOLOGICS, which increased to 1,669,000, up by 4,000, and CHONGKUNDANG, which rose to 88,200, a gain of 1,600. On the losing side, DOOSAN decreased significantly to 848,000, down by 36,000, and Hanwha Vision fell to 38,350, a loss of 2,150.

The market's mixed performance reflects varying investor sentiments and sector-specific developments, highlighting the dynamic nature of the KOSPI 200 index.
