KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Movements as Samsung SDI and LG Innotek Lead Gains

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index exhibited varied movements on Thursday as several major stocks posted gains while others saw declines. Notably, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. and LG Innotek emerged as top gainers in the trading session.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. closed at 676,000 KRW, marking an increase of 46,000 KRW. This significant gain was complemented by LG Innotek, which rose by 90,000 KRW to close at 1,134,000 KRW. Meanwhile, Hankook and Company saw a modest increase of 100 KRW, closing at 24,100 KRW.

On the downside, Kia Corp. experienced a decrease of 400 KRW, settling at 164,300 KRW. ISUPETASYS faced one of the largest drops, falling by 4,800 KRW to end at 127,500 KRW. Other notable declines included GS Retail, which was down by 1,650 KRW to close at 25,350 KRW, and GS E and C, down by 800 KRW, closing at 28,800 KRW.

Mirae Asset Securities fell by 2,500 KRW to 62,000 KRW, while SKC experienced a decrease of 7,300 KRW, closing at 137,200 KRW. Otoki and Daesang also saw declines, with Otoki down by 1,500 KRW to 339,000 KRW and Daesang decreasing by 30 KRW to 19,100 KRW.

Orion Holdings bucked the downward trend with a rise of 200 KRW, closing at 25,150 KRW. However, Asia Holdings saw a significant drop of 9,000 KRW to 203,000 KRW. Other declines included KCC, which fell by 17,000 KRW to 550,000 KRW, and Daewoong, down by 800 KRW, closing at 19,000 KRW.

Samsung Electronics Mechanical saw a substantial gain of 219,000 KRW, closing at 1,849,000 KRW, providing a boost for the index. In contrast, Samyang Food declined by 26,000 KRW, ending at 1,211,000 KRW, while POSCO International decreased by 1,500 KRW to 64,100 KRW.

Overall, the KOSPI 200 index displayed a mix of gains and losses, reflecting varied investor sentiments and market conditions.
