KOSPI 200 Sees Decline in Major Stocks with Select Gains

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a downturn as numerous companies recorded declining stock prices, while only a few saw gains. The closing price list revealed that several prominent entities experienced a decrease in their share value, contributing to the overall downward trend.

According to Yonhap News Agency, CJ's stock closed at 116,900, marking a drop of 4,600. HD Hyundai Infracore also saw a reduction, finishing at 7,180, down by 140. HANMISemi reported a decline of 1,700, closing at 59,500. Other notable decreases were observed in COSMAX, which fell by 10,900 to close at 151,400, and LIG Nex1, which decreased by 11,500 to 239,000.

Despite the general downward trend, some companies experienced an upswing. HYUNDAI ROTEM saw a rise, closing at 91,900, up by 300. Similarly, HYUNDAIGLOVIS increased by 300 to 107,300, while KBFinancialGroup rose by 400 to end at 70,900. Youngone Corp also reported a significant increase, climbing by 1,200 to reach 43,100.

Other companies such as KEPCO KPS, KEPCO E and C, and LGCHEM experienced declines, closing at 38,200, 49,950, and 203,500 respectively. The financial sector showed mixed results with Hana Financial Group dropping by 1,800 to 52,200, while Meritz Financial fell by 3,200 to 107,800.

The report highlighted that while some companies managed to achieve positive results, the prevailing trend on the KOSPI 200 was a decline, affecting various sectors from technology to pharmaceuticals and beyond.
