KOSPI 200 Sees Decline in Major Stocks with Few Gainers

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw a significant number of stocks closing lower, reflecting a downward trend among major companies. Notably, Korea Zinc experienced a steep decline, closing at 1,306,000 won, down by 79,000 won. Similarly, HDKSOE and LS Electric both saw declines of 12,500 won, closing at 409,000 won and 461,500 won respectively.

According to Yonhap News Agency, several other prominent companies also reported lower closing prices. POSCO Future M dropped by 15,000 won to 195,500 won, while Asia Holdings decreased by 14,000 won, closing at 344,000 won. SK saw a reduction of 3,500 won, ending at 251,500 won. The downward trend was further evidenced by Lotte Chemical Corp, which fell by 6,400 won to 72,500 won.

Despite the overall decline, there were some stocks that recorded gains. Notably, Mirae Asset Securities rose by 1,650 won to close at 22,100 won. SBHC increased by 2,500 won, ending at 45,350 won, and Korea Aerospace saw a rise of 2,700 won, closing at 109,400 won. Additionally, Hankuk Carbon and Nongshim experienced increases, closing at 32,350 won and 430,000 won respectively.

The session also noted some stocks with minimal movement. SK Telecom remained unchanged at 53,000 won, while Hanssem and Hanon Systems saw slight drops of 550 won and 100 won, closing at 45,600 won and 3,045 won respectively. The market's mixed performance highlights the varied responses of different sectors to prevailing economic conditions.
