Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a notable decline, with several major companies seeing significant drops in their stock prices. Key players such as Samsung SDI and KPIC witnessed substantial decreases, influencing the overall performance of the index.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. saw a sharp decline, with its stock price falling by 18,000, closing at 277,000. Similarly, KPIC suffered a significant drop of 12,600, ending at 144,700. Other notable declines included POSCO Holdings, which fell by 10,500 to settle at 303,000, and Hyundai Rotem, which decreased by 5,200, closing at 175,000.
Several other companies also contributed to the downward trend. For instance, DB Insurance's stock price decreased by 2,700, ending at 123,100, and OTOKI experienced a drop of 2,500, closing at 387,500. LotteChilsung and SANIL Electric also faced declines, with their stock prices falling by 3,000 and 6,600, respectively.
Despite the overall downturn, a few companies managed to post gains. Cheil Worldwide's stock price increased by 100, closing at 23,150, while NCsoft saw a rise of 300, ending at 197,600. Paradise and Lotte Shopping also reported gains, with increases of 260 and 600, respectively.
