Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw significant activity as several major companies experienced fluctuations in their stock prices. Key performers included KEPCO KPS, which closed at 45,800, marking a decline of 1,250, and SamsungEandA, which dropped 1,650 to settle at 47,100. Noteworthy gains included KTandG, rising 1,800 to 178,100, and LGCHEM, which increased by 3,000, closing at 280,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, there were notable declines in companies such as NAVER, which decreased by 3,500 to close at 217,000, and LG HandH, down by 5,000 to 313,000. In contrast, SAMSUNG CandT experienced an uptick, rising 1,500 to 376,500. Companies like HD-Hyundai Marine Engine and GS also reported declines, with GS falling 2,100 to 127,100.
The index observed mixed results among other companies, with LandF seeing an increase of 11,900, closing at 146,700, while HanmiPharm faced a significant drop of 16,500, ending at 492,500. Additionally, SK Innovation reported a rise of 8,600 to 125,500, whereas POONGSAN fell by 4,500 to 81,900.
The report detailed further that financial groups like ShinhanGroup and WooriFinancialGroup recorded losses, with ShinhanGroup falling by 800 to 108,900 and WooriFinancialGroup dropping 100 to 33,800. Conversely, KBFinancialGroup saw an increase, closing up 1,700 at 173,300. Other gains included Misto Holdings, which rose 500 to 41,850, and Hanwha Engine, despite a decrease of 800, closing at 47,450.
