KOSPI 200 Index Sees Mixed Movements in Closing Prices

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced fluctuations in its closing prices, with some companies witnessing gains while others faced declines. Notable movements included Celltrion rising to 175,100, marking an increase of 1,700, and Samsung Electronics climbing up by 2,100 to reach 86,000.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies such as Daewoong Pharm and Samsung C and T also saw significant increases, with Daewoong Pharm up by 2,500 to 136,500 and Samsung C and T climbing by 3,900 to 188,500. Meanwhile, firms like Shinhan Group and Hyundai Department Store faced declines. Shinhan Group decreased by 300 to 70,500, and Hyundai Department Store fell by 1,900 to 86,600.

The index also showed mixed results among financial and chemical companies. JB Financial Group rose by 150 to 23,100, while OCI improved by 700 to 54,400. Conversely, companies like TKG Huchems and Lotte Fine Chemical saw their prices drop, with TKG Huchems down by 70 to 17,630 and Lotte Fine Chemical decreasing by 100 to 46,200.

Significant gains were also observed for Nongshim, which surged by 14,000 to 445,500, and GS Retail, which increased by 1,030 to 17,680. On the other hand, Shinsegae experienced a significant decline, dropping by 3,800 to 183,300, while DB Insurance fell by 2,100 to 136,400.

The technology and automotive sectors showed varied performances, with SKC rising by 1,000 to 102,100, and Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. falling by 1,000 to 204,000. Similarly, Doosan Robotics and Hyundai Steel saw their prices decrease, with Doosan Robotics down by 1,000 to 64,900 and Hyundai Steel down by 800 to 33,150.

Overall, the KOSPI 200 index reflected a day of mixed results, highlighting the dynamic nature of the stock market as companies across different sectors experienced both gains and losses.
