KOSPI 200 Experiences Downward Trend Despite Select Gains

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index showed a predominantly downward trajectory in Tuesday's trading session on the Korea Stock Exchange, with numerous leading stocks closing at lower prices. Among the notable decliners were LG Corp., which dropped by 3,500 KRW to close at 97,300 KRW, and Samsung SDS, which fell by 7,900 KRW to end at 190,800 KRW.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other significant decreases in stock prices included MiwonComcl, which decreased by 7,200 KRW to 116,800 KRW, and SeAH Steel Holdings, down by 6,500 KRW to 113,800 KRW. Furthermore, SamyangFood witnessed a reduction of 41,000 KRW, closing at 1,119,000 KRW, and POSCO INTERNATIONAL dipped by 2,250 KRW to close at 49,150 KRW.

Despite the overall downward trend, some stocks managed to register gains. Shinsegae increased by 26,000 KRW to close at 755,000 KRW, while ASIA HOLDINGS rose by 1,700 KRW to finish at 171,600 KRW. Additionally, SK hynix saw a rise of 22,000 KRW, closing at 2,650,000 KRW, and DOOSAN climbed by 9,000 KRW to end at 1,487,000 KRW.

The mixed performance of the KOSPI 200 reflects the varied investor sentiment and market conditions influencing the Korean stock market. Noteworthy among the gainers were Hankook and Company, which rose by 400 KRW to 23,700 KRW, and Hyundai M and F INS, closing 150 KRW higher at 34,850 KRW.
