Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a significant downturn as numerous major companies experienced a decrease in their closing prices. Key players in the South Korean market faced declines in their stock values, reflecting a challenging day for investors.
According to Yonhap News Agency, MIWON SC saw a drop of 3,300, closing at 119,000. ORION's share price fell by 8,200, ending at 129,600. Shinsegae faced a decline of 24,500, closing at 319,500, while SGBC's price decreased by 2,200, settling at 59,100. LOTTE Fine Chem saw a decrease of 800, closing at 51,900.
Other notable declines included HYUNDAI STEEL, which fell by 2,950 to close at 34,500, and Nongshim, which decreased by 14,000, ending at 366,500. NAVER and Kakao also recorded drops of 12,500 and 3,100, closing at 209,000 and 46,900 respectively. Kangwonland's shares decreased by 410, closing at 17,780.
Further declines were seen in NCsoft, which dropped by 14,000 to close at 214,000, and KIWOOM, which experienced a significant decline of 45,500, closing at 415,000. Hanwha Ocean and HANMISemi faced decreases of 10,200 and 12,500, closing at 118,900 and 297,000 respectively. KEPCO KPS and LG H and H saw their prices fall by 3,000 and 10,500, ending at 64,500 and 245,000.
LGCHEM faced a decline of 20,000, closing at 290,000, while KEPCO E and C dropped by 14,400, ending at 161,100. DAEWOONG PHARM and SANIL ELECTRIC saw decreases of 10,400 and 6,500, closing at 149,600 and 152,700 respectively. LGELECTRONICS and HYUNDAIDEPTST experienced declines of 8,400 and 7,900, ending at 109,500 and 83,900.
ShinhanGroup and KIH faced significant declines of 8,000 and 23,500, closing at 89,900 and 211,000 respectively. HYUNDAI ROTEM and Celltrion saw their prices fall by 11,200 and 13,700, closing at 168,900 and 188,300. KDHC and HYBE also experienced decreases of 3,400 and 53,500, ending at 89,700 and 290,500 respectively.
HD-Hyundai Marine Engine dropped by 6,900, closing at 73,500, while SK Innovation and AMOREPACIFIC experienced declines of 8,300 and 4,800, ending at 105,600 and 136,000 respectively. FOOSUNG and DL faced minor decreases of 360 and 200, closing at 6,640 and 64,700.
HITEJINRO and CJ LOGISTICS saw their prices fall by 320 and 7,000, ending at 16,290 and 106,800. DOOSAN faced a major decline of 120,000, closing at 1,066,000, while HANKOOK and COMPANY and KIA CORP. experienced decreases of 1,000 and 6,800, ending at 26,100 and 161,700 respectively.
In contrast, HYOSUNG TNC was the only company to report an increase, with a rise of 14,000, closing at 381,000.
