Seoul: Korea Zinc Inc., the world's largest zinc smelter based in South Korea, reported its fourth-quarter net profit of 212.3 billion won (US$145.4 million), a significant turnaround from a loss of 245.9 billion won in the same period a year earlier.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company announced in a regulatory filing that its operating profit for the October-December period surged 256.7 percent year-on-year to 429 billion won. Additionally, the company's revenue increased by 39.6 percent, reaching 4.76 trillion won.
