Korea-U.S. Alliance Foundation Hosts Memorial for Korean War Veterans in Paju

Paju: The Korea-U.S. Alliance Foundation on Thursday held a joint memorial in the border city of Paju to honor the veterans of the 1950-53 Korean War. The event took place at the U.S. military memorial located at Imjingak, north of Seoul, and drew the attendance of approximately 150 individuals. Among them were Veterans Minister Kwon Oh-eul and Deputy National Security Adviser Kim Hyun-jong.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lim Ho-young, chief of the Korea-U.S. Alliance Foundation, emphasized the importance of the alliance between South Korea and the United States. He stated, "The South Korea-U.S. alliance is not just a military one, but a blood-forged alliance that has maintained the shared values of freedom and democracy."

The Korea-U.S. Alliance Foundation, in collaboration with the Korea Defense Veterans Association, has been organizing events to commemorate the South Korea-U.S. alliance. These events run from the last Monday in May until June 6, which is recognized as Memorial Day in South Korea.
