Seoul: Kia Corp., South Korea's second-largest automaker by sales, reported a 0.8 percent increase in its November sales compared to the same month last year. The rise is attributed to an uptick in overseas demand, according to a company statement released on Monday. According to Yonhap News Agency, Kia, an affiliate of Hyundai Motor Co., sold a total of 262,426 vehicles in November. This marks an increase from the 260,363 units sold in the same period the previous year. While domestic sales saw a decline of 4 percent, totaling 48,015 units, overseas sales experienced a growth of 1.9 percent, reaching 213,835 units. From the beginning of the year until November, Kia's overall sales saw a decrease of 0.9 percent on-year, with total units sold amounting to 2,872,228. In response to the current sales trends, a company official stated that Kia aims to enhance sales momentum by launching upgraded versions of the Sportage and Carnival hybrid models starting in December. Kia's future plans include strengthening i ts electric vehicle lineup with the introduction of the envisioned EV4 and EV5 models. Additionally, the company plans to launch the new Tasman pickup truck model next year as part of its strategy to further expand sales.
